Since the CoV pandemic, more than one million people have died in the USA after being infected with the virus. This is according to data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU). No country has recorded more deaths related to the coronavirus in absolute numbers than the United States, which is home to about 330 million people.
U.S. President Joe Biden had already lamented the painful milestone last week at an international video summit and ordered flags on all public buildings in the U.S. to be flown at half-mast for several days in memory of CoV deaths. According to official figures, the million mark had not entirely been crossed at the time.
